Sara founded Foundation Financial to provide individuals, families and business owners with personalized, independent, fee-only financial planning and investment advisory services.

A fresh, creative approach to investing and financial planning requires different thinking. A native New Yorker, Sara was granted a full scholarship to the prestigious Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture, she practiced as a Registered Architect for over a decade working on international projects with I.M. Pei & Partners and other top architectural firms.  

Always fascinated by the business world, Sara changed careers after attending the NYU Financial Planning Certificate Program.   For over 27 years as a financial services professional, Sara has applied her passion for creative thinking to help people become smarter consumers of financial products.  She started her business career as an American Express financial analyst and later became a consultant to financial planning firms serving the needs of individual clients. Sara is driven by a dedication to responsive customer service, a spirit of entrepreneurialism, and a passion for unbiased critical thinking.  Coming from a long line of teachers, educating and empowering her clients to make smart money decisions is near and dear to Sara’s heart, she may even admit it’s her true calling in life!

Experiences in creative problem-solving, mathematics, project management, and positive interpersonal relationships form a strong foundation in providing her clients with collaborative financial solutions. Sara also owns Foundation Tax LLC , a Connecticut-based tax preparation and tax planning firm.  Sara lives in beautiful Westport, Connecticut with her husband.
